This project, mooted from research led in Tanzania
and in Kenya by a six-researcher team, is coordinated by Alain
Ricard, Research Director at Laboratoire
Langages, Langues et Cultures d’Afrique Noire (LLACAN),
in partnership with the Institute
of Kiswahili Research, University of Dar es Salaam, in Tanzania.
(TUKI).
The main objective of this project is to propose a new reading and
understanding of the Kiswahili language and culture dynamics, by
strenghtening inter-university cooperation in East Africa.
Research Training
Aurélie
Ferrari, PhD candidate at LLACAN, benefited from a mission in
Tanzania under an IFRA project in 2005. She took part in the 75th
anniversary of the Institute of Kiswahili Research. The topic of
the seminar was globalization and Kiswahili studies. From 2007,
her focus has been on the Kiswahili of Lubumbashi.
